Solid breakfast - we got there before 9 so it wasn't yet crowded. Took a star off because they were out of drip coffee but were able to make an Americano. I just didn't want 2 cups of that or I'd I bounce off the ceiling. The French toast was served with a berry- orange maple syrup and fresh blueberries. Delicious. Hubby had an omelette with home fries and seeded sourdough toast. Service was friendly, too. Vibes are low-key and casual.

The service and atmosphere is amazing! Food was also 5 stars!! Highly recommend the Roasted Turkey sandwich!!

I have been visiting Grey Dog for both sit-down and take-out lunches on and off for literal YEARS, yet maybe have taken it for granted as I haven't ever written a review. It's been a while since I have been there. We preordered two lunches for pickup today, and despite the dining area being crowded (which is the norm), my order was ready right on time and handed over to me with a smile. I had the roasted turkey (sandwich) with apple and bacon jam. It's wonderful, and for the record, we're talking true thick-sliced carved turkey and not just high end lunch meat. And if you choose the salad as a side, it is a nice mix of very fresh lettuces and chopped peppers- not run-of-the-mill iceberg bullsh*t. The soups are always excellent. I have a memory of them having had chili from time to time in the past and of loving it. Today tried the chicken soup with meatballs. Very flavorful, like an Italian wedding soup but more... noodle-forward? Will be ordering again. In short, this great meal reminded me what a ridiculously solid lunch spot Grey Dog is- arguably the crown jewel of the West Village weekday lunch scene.

So I was very unprepared and planned on dining at Breakfast by Salt's Cure, not realizing that the wait would be an hour with the line stretching down the block. My buddy suggested to meet up here at The Grey Dog for brunch instead with our significant other, which thankfully they had seating available immediately when we arrived. Certainly made up for waiting in line for food. I started off with a Chai Latte ($6.25) which they made with oat milk. Didn't expect them to do some coffee artwork with their signature logo on the top. Tasty as expected. Foodwise, I wanted to get something unique, so their Chorizo Hash ($17.50) appealed to me. This consisted of shredded potato sautéed with chorizo, pepper, onion, tomato sauce & a fried egg served with toast & greens. Tasted and felt much healthier than a corned beef hash, which is what I usually would get. Not to mention, it was filling enough.

We came across this place on our way to a different place and decided to come back for a late lunch (mid July) I wished I remembered our servers name she was super lovely and attentive to our table. She made a cute joke when she brought out our margs and expresso shots , "an upper and a downer." I recommend the chicken sandwich it was delicious and didn't feel super heavy. As well as the garlic shrimp. We enjoyed their happy hour margs. I will say the queso fundido is ok . Other than that I can't wait to come back next time I'm in New York.
